India’s Physical Features
There are many beautiful physical features, both natural and manmade In India. They all have something unique to add to the Indian scenery. There are loads of rivers to see and admire in India. Some of the best ones are the Ganges, Sutlej, Indus, Ravi, Beas, Jhelum, Yamuna, Chambal, Ghagra, Kosi, Betwa, Son, Brahmaputra, Narmada, Tapti, Mahanadi, Luni, Ghaggar, Sabarmati, Krishna, Godavari, Cauvery, and Tungabhadra. There are many national parks and wildlife sanctuaries in India where you can see wildlife and plantlife up close. Some of the most amazing ones to see are Gir Forests, Kaziranga Sanctuary, Manas Sanctuary, Chandraprabha Sanctuary, Ghana or Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary, Dachigam Sanctuary, Corbett National Park, Kanha National Park, Shiv Puri National Park, Hazaribagh National Park, Periyar Game Sanctuary, Dudhwa National Park, Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary, Nokrek National Park, Sariska Sanctuary, Ranthambore National Park, Namdapha National Park, Kelbut Lmjo Floating National Park, Palamau Tiger Project, Simlipal National Park, Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary, Nagarhore National Park, Mudumalai Sanctuary, Balpakram Sanctuary, Bandipur Sanctuary, Jaldapara Sanctuary, and the Wild Donkey Sanctuary. There are lots and lots of stunning Indian monuments that you absolutely HAVE to see if you are visiting India. They are Buland Darwaza, Charminar, Gateway of India, Gol Gumbad, Statue of Gomateswara, Hampi, Humayun Tomb, India Gate, Jama Masjid Delhi, Khajuraho Temples, Mahabalipuram Rathas, Nalanda, Qutub Minar, Safdarjung Tomb, Sanchi Stupa, Dhamekh Stupa, Taj Mahal, Victoria Memorial, Cellular Jail, Hawa Mahal, Le Palace, Mattancherry Palace, Mysore Palace, and Vivekananda Rock. The Taj Mahal is a monument that was created because created in 1632 by Emperor Shah Jahan to be his wife’s tomb and to mourn her. The Gateway of India is a huge arch of triumph that was made by King George V and Queen Mary from 1920 - 1924. The Vivekananda Rock is a memorial that was made to honor Swami Vivekananda, a holy person who educated many people. It was made in 197 by President Shri V. V. Giri. The Mattancherry Palace was a gift to a Indian King from the Portuguese in 1555. It was also renovated by the Portuguese, giving the palace a European flair. Kelbut Lamjao Floating National Park is the only place in the world that you can see the brow antlered deer. You can also see many different birds, hog deer, wild pigs, and many kinds of fish. In Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary you can see thousands of different kinds of birds and crocodiles from a beautiful boat. You can also see many different kinds of plant life. In the Gir Forests you can see the only Asiatic Lions in natural habitats, Asiatic Wild Donkeys, Hyenas, Gir Foxes, Pygmy Woodpeckers, Brown Fish Owls, and Black Bucks. India has many beautiful things to admire that can be seen nowhere else in the world.
