As you can see by now, India has so many amazing things to see! But, you can’t enjoy it all unless you know when and where to visit. The Tropic of Cancer passes through India so North India is in the Temperate Zone while South India is in the Torrid Zone. Also the coastlines of India have moderate temperatures while the inner parts of India have extreme temperatures. Rainfall usually occurs in different amounts in different parts of India. Heavy rainfall usually occurs in the Western Ghats, North East, Meghalaya Hills, Assam, West Bengal, West Coast, and the Southern Slopes of the West Himalayas. Moderately Heavy Rainfall usually occurs in the Southern parts of Gujarat, East Tamil Nadu, Northern Eastern Peninsula, Western Ghats, Eastern Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, and the Middle Ganges Valley. Less Rainfall usually occurs in the Upper Ganges Valley, Eastern Rajasthan, Punjab, Southern Plateau of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu. Scanty Rainfall usually occurs in Northern Kashmir, Western Rajasthan, Punjab, and the Deccan Plateau. India has 8 different climate regions. They are Tropical Rainforest, Tropical Savanna, Tropical Semi-Arid Steppe Climate, Tropical and Subtropical Steppe, Tropical Desert, Humid Subtropical with Winter, Mountain Climate, and Indian Drought. The Tropical Rainforest Climate is found on the west coastal plain and Sahyadris and and in parts of Assam. In it the temperatures also, are always high. There are lots of dense forest and plantation agriculture in areas of India with the Tropical Rainforest Climate. Tropical Savanna Climate is found in most of the peninsula and in the side of the Sahyadris. Tropical Savanna Climate has long dry weather and high temperatures. The only vegetation in these areas is savanna. Tropical Semi-Arid Steppe Climate is found in in the rain shadow belt, which runs from from central Maharashtra to Tamil Nadu. This climate is only good for dry farming and livestock ranching. Tropic and Subtropical Steppe Climate is found in a crescent from Punjab to Kachchh between the Thar Desert. Annual rainfall in these areas is low and erratic. Tropical Desert Climate is found in the western parts of  Barmer, Jaisalmer and Bikaner districts of Rajasthan. The maximum temperature in this region is 50 degrees Celsius. Humid Subtropical with Winter is found in large areas south of the Himalayas. Winters in this region are mostly dry except for a tiny bit of rain. Mountain Climate is found in the Himalaya and Karakoram Ranges. This region has a dry and cold climate with little vegetation. Drought in India is found in the dry areas of Rajasthan and the adjoining part of Haryana and Gujarat. Sometimes this occurs on the side of the western Ghats. India has 6 different seasons too. They are Vasanta ( March - April), Grishma (May - June), Varsha (July - August), Sharada (September - October), Hemanta (November - December), and Shishira (January - February). India has so many different seasons, climate regions, and extreme temperatures, so you should visit North India from November to February and South India from November to January.
